I submitted my application 5 months ago and just got a letter from the USCIS requesting more evidence and documents related to the I-864. Is this serious? Does this mean that I will get rejected? Is it fairly common?
Mr. LJ Carlos
Hello LJ, In my experience the request for evidence is pretty common. The USCIS can request extra documents for a hundred different reasons. This is a pretty good article on how to respond to a request for evidence. The most important thing is to make sure that you respond quickly, that you follow the directions indicated on the letter exactly and you send your response to the RFE to the correct USCIS address.
